  • Are your instructors certified?
All our teachers are Austswim, Royal Life or Swim Australia qualified. And also hold hold active CPR qualifications. Teachers also receive inhouse training in addition to their qualifications.
  • What is the student-to-teacher ratio?
Ducks (parent-and-child) classes have 6 children/parent pairs per. Independent levels have 4 children per instructor in a class. In our upper two levels (crocodiles 3 and 4) we have 6 children per instructor. Mini squad has up to 15 children.
  • Can we trial a lesson before committing?
Trial lessons are not offered, because we understand that no one performs at their best on their very first attempt at something new. It generally takes three lessons in quick succession for a child to really feel comfortable in a new environment. As we swim all year round, payments are made monthly, meaning you can enrol and choose to leave the program at the end of that payment cycle if the program is not for you. We also highly encourage families to pop in and take a look around, we know seeing us and how our program runs in person can feel and show a different perspective.
  • Can my children swim before or after their lessons?
No, we solely run swimming lessons, so children are only in the pool for their scheduled class. We do not offer ‘free play’ swimming. However, if you’re visiting in the morning, why not pair the lesson with a trip to Toots Café?
  • Do you offer birthday party bookings or pool hire?
We don’t facilitate birthday parties at the pool; however, Toots Café can be contacted for birthday celebrations. Pool hire for physiotherapy or other specific needs is considered on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to the Aqua Harmony Team for more information.
  • Do you offer holiday intensives?
As we swim all year round and our lessons continue to run throughout the school holidays, we do not run a holiday intensive program. Though families are more than welcome to swim multiple times during the holiday periods if desired.
  • What age groups do you cater to?
Our learn to swim programs, cater to children from 4 months old through to 12 years old (when a child starts high school) For our Hydrotherapy, Adults, Walkers programs you must be 18+* Private classes while created on a case-by-case basis have a lower age limit of 3 years 4 months. *Children 16 years and up are allowed with parental permission and supervision.
  • Do you offer private lessons?
While limited private classes are available, they are for students who have additional needs which cannot be met in a mainstream class. Each private class is created on a case-by-case basis, for more information please contact the Aqua Harmony team. Private classes are not available for children under the age of 3 years 4 months, as they can be catered to within our Ducks program (Parent-and-Child class).
  • How long are the lessons?
Learn to swim lessons are 30-minutes long. Mini-squad is 60-minutes. Hydrotherapy and walkers sessions are both 60-minutes long. Private lessons are 15, 20 or 30 minutes long.
  • What should my child bring to their lesson?
All independent swimmers need a swim cap (silicone or fabric), goggles and a simple swimsuit. We ask that children do NOT wear a rash shirt or long sleeves (unless for cultural reasons) as they restrict movement and make children cooler indoors. For parent-and-child classes: our littlest swimmers only need a well-fitting swim nappy to wear in the water (reusable or disposable). We ask that if you want to put swimwear on your little one you keep it simple – extra fabric on their bodies makes them cooler not warmer indoors. Grownups for the parent-and-child classes are asked to wear a t-short or rashie. Not only does the top gives your child something to grab onto and pull up on developing their independence, it also protects your modesty (we have seen bikini tops part ways with their owner or kids grab hold of chest hair which isn’t too much fun.
  • How do I enrol my child in a class?
Enrolments can be done: over the phone, via email, via the enquiry form or in person. Our Team will talk you through the level best suited for your child(ren), availability, program information and pricing. Based on that information we use the information you provide to enrol you child(ren) into a class that works for you!
  • Can I enrol mid-term?
Yes! We run a year-round program (48/52 weeks of the year) meaning children can enrol at any point! When doing enrolments we normally look no more than two weeks ahead for availability.
  • What happens if we miss a class?
When a child is away classes simply run ‘one short’ similar to childcare and schools. This allows us to provide the most consistency and quality to both your child and the children in other classes. If you are going to be away for two or more weeks, holiday and medical discounts are available.

All cancellations must be provided by midnight of the 19th of each month (payments processed on the 20th), to cancel the booking the for the next month ahead. Once a blocks’ fees are processed, they are non-refundable
  • How do you track progress?
Children in our program are assessed weekly on their skill and ability – with some milestones being marked with achievement stickers. Assessments also happen at different age points throughout the programs. Parents are also more than welcome to check in with our reception team for a progress update on their child at any point.
  • Can I talk to the instructor about my child’s progress?
While we ask that you do not talk to the instructors directly while they are in the water (as we want their main focus to be on teaching), you are more welcome to ask the reception or pool deck staff and they will happily check in with the teacher and provide you a progress update.
  • How much do lessons cost?
For our lesson cost, please contact the Aqua Harmony Team directly. We have a yearly fee adjustment around September, so we don’t list our prices on the website to ensure you always have the most up-to-date information. What you pay reflects not just the lesson but also the exceptional quality and value of the teaching and customer service we provide.
  • Are there additional fees I should know about?
